My folks showed up early on Alyssa’s 8th Grade graduation day bearing gifts. This is a 3# “Maui Style” premium tri tip roast from some yuppie store up near Granite Bay. Wouldn’t be right to not throw this bad boy on the grill! (Taken with instagram)

Roasting a tip tip Santa Maria style this evening. My friend, James, shared his dry-rub recipe with me recently so I figured tonight was as good a night as any to give it a try: Sea Salt, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Chili-Powder, Paprika and Ground Pepper. I smothered the roast with some good olive oil and added some chopped garlic (just because I can). Have the fire heated around 325 which should give us a good slow cook over some hickory smoke. Hehe, this is fun :-) (Taken with instagram)
